Case Study: UHB

The University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust runs Bristol Royal Infirmary and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Bristol Eye Hospital, South Bristol Community Hospital, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, St Michael’s Hospital and the University of Bristol Dental Hospital, in Bristol, England.

The UHB ran a 10 year old software solution to calculate their car park costs for staff on a monthly basis.

A lot of this work involved some manual intervention every month and there was a huge cost attached to this process as well of course of the possibility that manual intervention can also lead to problems.

UHB were looking for a cloud based solution allowing instant reporting any day of the week from anywhere.

The Solution

In partnership with Orion Security, Digital Forge produced the solution over a period of 2 months.

REACH was first implemented to cater for the huge amount of data generated by the Hospital and a web portal was developed to allow downloading of car park events for payroll on a daily basis.

The web portal also allows full exposure to the access control events via REACH which can be filtered and downloaded on a per user basis.

REACH Integration

Due to its dynamic nature REACH was implemented here to integrate with the on-site access control system (TDSi).

TDSi Integration

The UHB currently run TDSi Exgarde and there are currently 830 doors producing over 100,000 events every single day.
